What is the difference between a SATA SSD and an NVMe SSD?

SATA SSDs use the same connection type as traditional hard drives and fit in 2.5 inch drive bays — they are compatible with most laptops and desktops and are a straightforward upgrade. NVMe SSDs use the M.2 slot and are significantly faster than SATA — they are the best choice for newer laptops and desktops that have an M.2 slot available. Will an SSD upgrade make my laptop faster?

Yes — replacing an old spinning hard drive with an SSD is one of the most effective upgrades you can make to a slow laptop or PC.
