Check the support lifecycle before ordering. Office 2019 is unsupported, Office 2021 reaches end of support on 13 October 2026 and Office 2024 is supported until 9 October 2029. Applications may continue to run after support ends, but Microsoft no longer provides normal security updates, bug fixes or technical support.

One-Time Office Licence or Microsoft 365?

Choose a one-time Office product when you need the listed desktop applications on the compatible Windows PC or Mac stated on the product page and do not want an annual subscription. The software remains the purchased version and does not receive major upgrades to future Office releases.

Choose Microsoft 365 when you want a subscription with regularly updated applications and the services included with the selected plan. Personal, Family and Business products have different user, device, account and service allowances, so read the individual product page carefully. Microsoft 365 Business Standard requires a suitable business account and should not be assumed to renew an existing subscription or tenant unless the product page confirms that it is suitable.

Windows and Mac Compatibility

Professional Plus products in this category are supplied for compatible Windows PCs. Separate Office Home and Home & Business products are available for compatible PCs or Macs as stated in their individual listings. Microsoft 365 products may support compatible computers and mobile devices, but allowances differ between Personal, Family and Business plans. Windows 10 reached end of support on 14 October 2025. Office applications may continue to run on Windows 10, but the level of Microsoft support depends on the Office version and the Windows configuration. For a currently supported setup, Windows 11 is recommended where the computer is compatible.

Does Microsoft 365 Business Standard work like a personal Microsoft 365 subscription?
